Resilient Partners was founded by Alexander Ahari in 2017 to provide independent advisory services to regulated institutional investors on manager research, operational due diligence and product design.
Initially focusing on private debt, we have gradually rotated our activities towards digital assets since 2019 given the enormous potential of distributed ledgers to transform capital markets and fiat currency regimes. We have helped clients navigate its complexities with clear, cogent strategic advice and context-driven due diligence to guide their allocation decisions.
CASE STUDIES
Crypto Fund-of-Funds
Resilient is currently advising the capital management division of a Swiss bank on crypto fund due diligence, helping the client ramp a portfolio of market neutral managers for a digital asset FoF that launched in July 2023 with $30m of AUM.
FTX Bankruptcy Claims
From November 2022 to March 2023, Resilient helped a number of crypto hedge funds realise liquidity through brokering the sale of FTX claims to distressed debt funds and accurately value sidepockets.
Crypto Prime Broker
In Q1 2022, Resilient advised a HK and UK regulated crypto prime broker on the design of debt instruments for institutional investors, a conduit product designed to provide additional portfolio financing for their underlying hedge fund client base.
Retail DeFi Yield Farm
Through 2021, Resilient advised a Bangkok-based crypto yield farm with $500m of peak AUM on the selection and diligence of external crypto arbitrage managers.
Hong Kong Capital Manager
From 2019-2020, Resilient advised a Hong Kong SFC regulated firm on the operational development of its crypto FoF product and delivered detailed due diligence reports on prospective investments.
Crypto Workshops
From 2020 onwards, Resilient has hosted pro-bono teach-ins with a wide range of asset managers, family offices and wealth management platforms on blockchains, crypto capital markets and digital asset products.
FOUNDER
Alexander Ahari began his career in 1999 in the middle office of Old Mutual Asset Management, working on fund valuations. In 2001, he moved to Attica Asset Management as an Assistant Fund Manager, working on multistrat fund of hedge fund products. In 2003, Alex joined the FoHF Eddington Capital, being promoted to fund manager in 2007, running two products totalling $200m of peak AUM. He then went independent in 2010, advising a range of FoHF managers on manager research, ODD and portfolio construction. In 2014, he joined the institutional pension consultancy Redington as head of private debt and operational due diligence, advising some of the UK’s largest occupational pension schemes on their inaugural allocations to direct lending and specialty finance funds. Alex created Resilient Partners in 2017 to advise institutions on private debt and, latterly, digital asset investments, operating from Putney in South West London. He has two children and spends most of his spare time driving them to sports clubs, picking up Lego and reading books on politics, science and philosophy.
